About
Katie Corboy has served as the Assistant Director at the UIC Institute for the Humanities since September 2022. Before the Institute, she worked in various roles at UIC since 2009, including Director of Special Events, at the College of Nursing. In 2018 she received her PMP (project management professional) certification. Katie is the recipient of two UIC College of Nursing awards for excellence and the UIC Janice Watkins Award for Distinguished Civil Service. She is a member of the Associate Board of the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame.
Katie received her MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia College Chicago, where she served as Assistant Artistic Director for Story Week: Festival of Writers, which was one of the largest literary fests in the state. At Columbia, Katie was an editor of and contributor to the award-winning anthology Hair Trigger 27, an editor of the international collaborative anthology Open to Interpretation and served as Managing Editor of the Fiction Writing Department’s publication, Fictionary.
