2013-2015 The Global Midwest

The Institute for the Humanities is excited to participate in the Humanities Without Walls consortium.  This initiative aims to create new avenues for collaborative research, teaching, and the production of scholarship in the humanities, forging and sustaining areas of inquiry that cannot be created or maintained without cross-institutional cooperation.  The Humanities Without Walls consortium will be the first of its kind to experiment at this large scale with cross-institutional collaboration.   The Humanities Without Walls consortium is based at the Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Competitions in spring and fall 2014 awarded project funds for five faculty projects.  These ongoing activities are detailed below.  Check back for updates and project events.

A competition will be announced August 2015 with an October 15, 2015 deadline.  The RFP will be posted when available.
