Institute COVID-19 Safety

Safety and Travel guidelines for Institute Programs
(based on CDC, City of Chicago, and UIC recommendations)

Vaccination is required for UIC faculty, students, and staff.

Vaccination is expected for non-UIC invited speakers and attendees. Unless vaccinated, visitors from prohibited states (see City of Chicago website ) must obtain a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Chicago, OR quarantine for at least 10 days after arrival.

Mask are required indoors regardless of vaccination status.

For invited speakers traveling from overseas: Please check current CDC website. All air passengers coming to the United States are required to have a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before boarding a flight to the United States.

For invited domestic speakers, please see City of Chicago website for updated travel advisory. Any unvaccinated people traveling from states in current ban are advised to obtain a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Chicago, or quarantine for at least 10 days after arrival.
