DISSERTATION WRITING GROUP: Nicoletta Rousseva  Add To Calendar

November 7, 2018 from 12 - 1:30 pm

Our fall 2018 presenter will be Nicoletta Rousseva, Art History Department. She will be presenting work from her dissertation, tentatively titled "Bad Comrades: Art and Answerability after Socialism.”

Her dissertation investigates contemporary artwork by Igor Grubić, Anri Sala, and the art collectives IRWIN and Neue Slowenische Kunst (NSK) that does the difficult work of admitting and examining the contradictions of twentieth century socialism. In this workshop, she will present a draft of the introduction.

Bring your own lunch, and we will provide coffee and cookies. We will circulate electronic copies of the work at least one week before the session.  Participants should come prepared to share suggestions, ask questions, and discuss writing strategies in an inviting and informal session.

We ask that you register with Linda Vavra, Associate Director, at lvavra@uic.edu, so that you can receive an electronic copy of the paper.
