As we gear up to prepare the EHI Y2 students to formulate their research projects and find faculty fellows, it might be good to take stock of humanities research resources around campus. Does your department have a dedicated capstone or research course for undergrads? What resources are available through the OUR and the Honors College? What are research best practices, and how do they vary by discipline? How can the library help? What would students like to see set up that could help them formulate and carry out a research project? What would faculty members like to see, or have help with? A lot of questions, but we can get started with them, at least.

We’ll incorporate what comes out of the conversation into our advising and workshops for EHI students in the coming years.  Eventually, I’d love to create an adaptable template that departments, mentors, and students can use (in the EHI and beyond); I’d also be happy to consolidate resources and links to them on the EHI website.

All are welcome! including (especially?) students, both undergraduate and graduate.
